Matbakhi respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our app on Android, iOS, or the web.

Supported Languages

Matbakhi supports six interface and content languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Turkish, and Urdu.

Data we collect

• On Google sign-in: name, email, profile picture.
• Account content: favorite recipes, shopping list, calorie logs, weekly plans, AI-converted recipes you save.
• Usage data: recipe view counts and search queries.
• Approximate location: we use your IP address to detect your country (Geo-IP) ONLY to suggest a region-appropriate weekly meal plan. We never request your precise location.
• Notification token: an anonymous device identifier (FCM token).

Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)

We use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications (calorie-log reminders, free-trial expiry alerts, new recipe announcements). You can disable notifications at any time from your OS settings. More info: Firebase privacy.

Google AdMob Advertising

The app may display ads via Google AdMob to support the free tier. AdMob uses your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / iOS IDFA) for personalised ads. You can reset or disable this from your device settings. Premium subscribers do not see ads. AdMob privacy policy.

Payments & Subscription

We use Stripe to process Premium subscription payments. Credit-card details are never stored on our servers.

Third-party data sharing

We never sell your data. Service providers we use:

• Google Sign-In (authentication)
• Stripe (payments)
• Google Gemini (AI recipe suggestions & translation)
• OpenAI (text-to-speech)
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
• Google AdMob (advertising for free users)

Affiliate links

The app contains affiliate links to kitchen-tool products from Amazon, Noon, and AliExpress. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

At any time you can: access your data, edit it, delete your account, cancel your subscription, or opt out of push notifications. Email info@matbakhi.app.

Data retention

We retain your data while you use the app. When you delete your account, all associated data is removed within 30 days (except where retention is legally required).

Security

All communications use TLS/HTTPS encryption. We do not store passwords because we rely on Google single sign-on.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Policy updates

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes inside the app or by email.
